Core Duties and Responsibilities

Machine Operation: Use manual and hydraulic controls to excavate trenches, dig foundations, clear land, level terrain, and demolish structures. [1, 2, 3]

Material Handling: Lift, move, and load heavy materials like soil, gravel, sand, and rubble directly into dump trucks or designated areas. [1, 2]

Attachment Management: Select, fit, and operate specialized attachments such as buckets, hydraulic breakers (hammers), augers, or rippers depending on job needs. [1, 2]

Site Preparation: Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, drawings, or laser levels to ensure digging and grading meet exact project specifications. [1, 2, 3]

Pre-Operation Checks: Inspect fluid levels (oil, fuel, hydraulic fluid), tracks, and bucket pins before starting work to verify safety and proper function. [1, 2]

Routine Maintenance: Perform minor servicing, cleaning, greasing, and refueling, and report major mechanical issues to the supervisor. [1, 2, 3]

Site Safety & Communication: Coordinate with ground crews and truck drivers, watch for underground utilities or overhead power lines, and follow strict occupational health and safety rule
